Here comes Rod, he’s back! An album full of catchy tunes and ballads, something for everyone here all contained neatly in eleven tracks.
This is an album with original material written and performed by Rod, i feel a flood of new Rod Stewart converts rushing for this album.
Sadly though, the opening song is a little bland, a run of the mill pop tune. I think the album should’ve opened with ‘ Live the life ‘. This song is well written and performed with feeling, classic Rod Stewart. Overall the album delivers songs he actually believes in, showing faith in his own songs ( Even some of the weaker ones ) which will be welcome to fans.
Even some of the weaker tracks are held together by the strength of feeling by the artist, you pick up just how much he cares about the songs, this projects well.
Maybe with past albums, Rod has seemed at times to lose feeling for the songs he has performed, this album however has proved he still has the ability to deliver good quality, emotive and well delivered songs.

In conclusion…
So rod is back writing and performing original songs, i think this is going to be a big hit and fans will snap this up. Even though there are some weaker tracks and some seem a bit modern pop in style. Rod has the ability and experience to carry the songs that are not quite so good. Watch out for ‘ Live the life ‘, a sure fire hit single.

Stewart‘s main hobby was railway modelling. Robert had played on a local amateur side and managed some as well, and one of Stewart‘s earliest memories were the pictures of Scottish players such as George Young and Gordon Smith that his brothers had on the wall.

Bon Jovi released slippery when wet back in 1984 and created a classic 80′s rock album in the process. Jon Bon Jovi’s rough voice is perfect for the ballads on the album, while Richie’s guitar playing knocks the songs for six. Many of the songs on the album are considered classics now, ‘ Wanted Dead Or Alive and Livin’ On A prayer ‘ to name just two from the album.
In my opinion though by far the best track on the whole album is track 10 ‘ Without love’, for some reason when i listen to this song i cannot get the image out of my mind of a man walking endlessly in the rain through the streets at night, so this song certainly fires the imagination.
The usual rock classics are present here too, so not only a chance to use one’s own imagination to interpret a track but some air guitar playing tracks just to get the juices flowing.

In conclusion…
Certainly one of the best rock albums Bon Jovi had ever done, powerful tracks that show how this group can change seamlessly between upbeat rock and ballads, this is what classic rock is all about and should be played full volume from any car stereo.

Agnetha Fältskog’s new album A, is the first album by the ABBA godess for nine years, her first material since 1987. Renowned songwriter and producer Jorgen Elofsson and acclaimed producer and arranger Peter Nordahl have worked with Agnetha on this album. This album has 10 tracks, including the leading track ‘ When You Really Loved Someone ‘, along with a collaboration with award winning Gary Barlow on the duet ‘ I should ‘ve followed you home ‘.
With her Swedish accent, familiar to ABBA fans the World over adds a lot to this album, her ability to make the song feel as though it was hers from the start, her deep sense of feeling and caressing of the lyrics just sends the album to another level very rarely achieved by younger artists of today.
If you remember ABBA and the ballads the group produced then you’ll love ‘ The One Who Loves You Now ‘, a real hark back to the ABBA years. The haunting piano and lyrics of ‘ I was a flower ‘ will make you sit and just listen, pure class form the former ABBA queen.
Without sounding like a drooling ABBA fan, i cannot find fault with this offering by Agnetha, all fans of good music will love this album. There is something for everyone, from the dance track ‘ Dance Your Pain Away ‘ which will no doubt be popular on dancefloors everywhere to the haunting  ’ I was a flower ‘.

In conclusion…
Make way in your collection for this album, overall a good offering from the former ABBA star and a sure fire hit album the World over.

The Album ‘ Home ‘ is the debut offering from the four piece British group Rudimental. This Album has a soul, dance with drum and bass fusion, the various influences are clearly marked out throughout this album. A supurb music accomplishement with sometimes thought provoking lyrics, the single of 2012 ‘ Feel the love ‘ is a perfect example. This album boasts some impressive talent helping the album glide effortlessly into our collections, featuring such honest talent as Emeli Sandé, Angel Haze and Alex Clare. A good mix of songs that are familiar with fans and original songs that will strike home, even converting non Rudimental followers. This is a group that believe in taking a risk and just doing their own thing with good quality songs and well made and inspirational videos that do it justice. Rudimental is a group that will be big in the coming months, more hits to follow i ‘m sure and sell out tours are on the cards. With this said i think they will need to be true to their music and not move away from the urban London street feel they project. Well worth having in the car and turning up the volume.

In conclusion…

A brilliant album from a group that believe in their ability, this must be on every media device you own. Watch out for these, bigger things are waiting just around the corner for this lot.

Michael Bublé has combined some great music standards, with classics like ‘ You make me feel so you ‘ he has given the songs a true and fitting modern twist. He has taken some classics and dusted them down for a modern, sometimes younger audience and given them a new lease of life. Micheal has produced original material and each one has his usual feel, so fans of his past music won ‘t be dissapointed with this new offering. Even fans of original artists from the genre he resides in will find comfort with this album. He has that sometimes rare playability factor, this album certainly falls well within that catagory and once you put this on the repeat button will be used. Many albums can have some tracks that take time to grow, a few times to get used to, however with this album i feel this isn ‘t the case. Each song hits you and instanly triggers the like button within. Michael hit the nail right on the head with his version of Frank Sinatra ‘s ‘ You make me feel so young ‘, with such a huge name in music to live up to michael has done the song justice, he is really a crooner of that type of calibre.

So the album oozes class, whether you are at home with a bottle of wine, listening on you chosen media device this is an album that can lift you up, lower you back down again, musically brilliant.

Pink has enjoyed growing popularity over the years, this singer produces songs that her audience can relate to, producing hits that instantly connect. Very few artists have the ability to sit and write songs about their personal experiences that can reach out to others without sounding patronising and aloof. Sadly the weakest song on the album is ‘ The truth about love ‘, but the strength of the other tracks carry this song along, so the whole album blends well.

Emeli Sandé’s solo debut single Heaven is a true masterclass in song writing, one of the best pop songs released in 2011. Along with producer Shahid ‘Naughty Boy’ Khan Emeli Sandé manages to capture the right mood, holds you firmly and pulls you in, with the use of old-school breakbeats that add a familiar Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy feel. This tie up and influence cannot harm the commercial attractiveness of the album.
The opening track of Our Version of Events has that inner city, cruising feel but would sound better playing from any media device, cutting out background distraction. The whole mood of the album is one that can take you anywhere you want to go, the cover of Imagine by john Lennon is simply stunning in arrangement an vocal delivery. ‘ Breaking the law ‘ is a true pop song in every sense, upbeat and foot tapping. The song ‘ Read all about it ‘ performed with Professor Green hits the right spot, a wistful melodic journey, must be listened through earphones while laying on the sofa to appreciate just how clever this arrangement is and the full use of Emeli Sandé’s vocal talent. Of course it remains to be seen if Emeli Sandé will keep following this tyle or take a different route into more jazzed up pop, however the album is well worth the money, an artist that can write tunes that will one day become classics and a sure fire vocal talent that\’s ready to take on and indeed topple some of the biggest names in the industry.
